Thalipeeth - Maharashtrian Delicacy - Much better than fast food.

A recipe which has been handed down from generations. This multi nutritional dish is not 
only mouth watering but soooo easy to make. I'm sure once you try it... it will be a regular item on you menu. Its much better than any fast food.

Ingredients:
2 Cup Jowar Flour
2 Onions
1 tsp Asafoetida
1.5 tsp Turmeric Powder
2 - 3 tsp Red Chili Powder
3/4 Cup Coriander/Cilantro
2-3 tbsp Oil
Water: As required
Salt: As per taste

Recipe:

1. Take jowar flour into large bowl and add all the spices.
2. Now add onions, coriander, oil and salt.
3. Add sufficient amount of water and make soft dough and make small portion out of it.
4. Now take one cotton cloth, soak it into water.
5. Spread it over wooden board. Take one small portion and spread it on cloth by using water to make thalipeeths.
6. Add some oil on pan and put this on it.
7. Cook it from both sides and your dish will be ready.

Benefits:
1. Very healthy as contains ingredients like jowar flour, onions, coriander.cilantro.
2. East and can be made quickly.

Til Vadi / Sesame Sweet ( Tilachi Vadi ) - Natural Protection for Winter / Cold (TilGul)

Til - Sesame Sweet
This is a traditional Maharashtrian sweet which is prepared using roasted sesame seeds and jaggery. This is eaten during winters as sesame and jaggery help to protect against the harsh cold and offer natural protection.

Ingredients:
2 Cup Roasted Sesame Powder
1/2 Cup Roasted Peanut Powder
1 Cup Jaggery
2 tsp Clarified Butter/Ghee
Coconut Flex For decoration

Recipe:
1. Keep your pan on low heat and add clarified butter/ghee to that.
2. Once ghee melts, add jaggery to the pan.
3. Keep it stirring continuously.Once jaggery is melted completely, take it off the heat.
4. Add both powder and mix it properly.
5. Apply some ghee on plain dish and spread our mixture on it.
6. Now put coconut flex and press it into mixture.
6. Cut the mixture into square pieces and our dish is ready.

Benefits:
1. Popular sweet snack made during Sankranti.
2. Very useful to build immune power against winter.

Roasted Peanut Rolls - Groundnut Rolls - Shengdana Ladoo

The shortest recipe but the healthiest one. These peanut rolls will not only treat you with delight but will make you popular among kids too !!

Ingredients:
3/4 Cup Roasted groundnut powder
4 tsp Clarified butter/Ghee
2 tbsp Jaggery

Recipe:
1. Mix jaggery, roasted ground nut powder and clarified butter together. Grind them for 3-4 minutes.
2. Roll them into small rolls and our dish is ready.

Benefits:
1. Can be made in just 2 minutes.
2. Very easy and very delicious.
3. one of the dishes made during fasting.

Pithla - A Maharashtrian Delicacy ! Chickpea - Garbanzo Flour Recipe

Pithla - Maharashtrian Recipe
Pithla will make any Maharashtrian's mouth water. A staple food for many, and delicacy for some, this dish will go with bread, rice or even a bagel ! Have fun making it and enjoy it with the entire family.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Chickpea Flour
4-5 cloves of garlic
3-4 Dried Red Chilies
5-6 Curry Leaves
Water as required
Salt as per taste
Coriander/Cilantro

For Tempering:

2 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

Recipe:

1. Mix chickpea flour and sufficient amount of water to make watery paste out of it.
2. Keep your pan on medium heat and add oil to that.
3. Once oil is hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and turmeric powder. Mix it well.
4. Now add curry leaves,red chilies, garlic, mix it well and cover it with lid.Let it cook for few minutes.
5. Now add mixture of chickpea flour,keep stirring it (add some more water if mixture is thick).Cover it with lid and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
6. Finally add salt and coriander and our dish is ready.
7. Serve it hot with Roti/Rice :)

Kadhi - A Must Try Indian Recipe

Kadhi, the name itself brings back memories of my childhood. The aroma, the taste, no wonder this is a popular Indian dish tried by all and loved by all. 
Do try this quick and easy recipe and do not forget to share your feedback.

Ingredients:
5-6 tbsp Yogurt
1 inch Ginger
2-3 Cloves Of Garlic
2 tsp Chickpea Flour
Salt: As per taste
Water: As required

For Tempering:
2 tsp Cumin Seeds
3-4 Dry Red Chilies
2 tbsp Butter
10-12 Curry Leaves
1/2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds

Recipe:
1. Mix yogurt, ginger, garlic,chickpea flour together and grind them together. Add sufficient amount of water to make a watery yogurt mixture.
2. Keep your pan on medium heat and add yogurt mixture to that.Keep stirring it.
3. Once it starts boiling, switch off the gas and keep it aside.
4. Take other pan for tempering. add butter to that. Once butter melts, add cumin seeds, red chilies, curry leaves,fenugreek seeds and mix it well.
5. Cook it for 2-3 minutes and add the tempering to yogurt mixture.
6. Keep the yogurt on on low heat again and add salt as per taste.
7. Let is cook for few more minutes and our dish is ready.

Benefits:
1. Famous dish in various parts of India.

3. Can be served with Roti/Rice/Khichadi.

here is a quick and easy recipe to turn leftover rice into a spicy tangy variety.

Ingredients:
3/4 Cup Boiled Rice
1 Small Onion
1 tsp Red Chili Powder
Salt: As per taste
Coriander/CIlantro: For garnishing

For Tempering:
1-2 tbsp Oil
3/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
3/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

Recipe:
1. Keep you pan on medium heat and add oil to that.
2. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida,turmeric powder and mix it well.
3. Add onions and let it cook till onions become transparent.
4. Now add boiled rice, red chili powder, salt and mix it well.
5. Decorate it with cilantro and dish is ready.

Benefits:
1. Perfect recipe for leftover rice.

Amboli - Authentic Maharashtrian Dish. (Must See).

Amboli - Famous Maharashtrian Recipe
Amboli is a breakfast item served hot with pickle/white butter/yogurt.
Its a quick recipe and extremely healthy as it not only contains one but three different flours.
You can have it as breakfast or it goes well as evening snacks for children or even brunch.

Ingredients:
2 Bowl Rice Flour
1 Bowl Wheat Flour
1 tbsp. Chick Pea Flour / Besan
1 Big Onion
4 to 5 Green Chili
1/2 tbsp. Turmeric Powder
1/2 to 1 tbsp. Asafoetida
3/4 glass (Tall)  Butter Milk
3/4 bowl Coriander/Cilantro
2 tbsp. Oil
Salt as per taste
Water as required.

Recipe: 
1. Mix all of the flour together in a big mixing bowl.  
2. Now add all the ingredients one by one and mix it well.  
3. Please make sure you add sufficient amount of water to the mixture to make watery paste.  
4. Keep the pan on medium heat and spray some oil on that.  
5. Now add our mixture on the pan. let it cook for 2 minutes.
6. Once it is cooked from bottom, just flip it and cook it from other side as well.
7. Once it is cooked from both side, our Amboli is ready.

Benefits: 
1. Very healthy breakfast dish as it contains 3 varieties of flour.
2. Can be a good replacement for simple roti.
3. One of the famous and old recipe of Maharashtra.
4. Can be served as break fast item or evening snacks item.
