Masala Puri - Tikhat Mithachi Puri

This is very simple and quick snack made up of 2 to 3 flours namely wheat flour, chickpea flour and rice flour. Enjoy the snack with ketchup, curd or simply, plain. It is one the best items to take with you while travelling.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Wheat Flour
2 tbsp Chickpea Flour
2 tbsp Rice Flour
1/2 tsp Asafoetida
3/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
2 to 3 tsp Red Chilli Powder
2-3 tsp White Sesame Seeds 
2-3 tsp Hot Oil: For Mixing
Salt: As Per Taste
Oil: For Deep Frying
Water: For Kneading the dough

Recipe:
1. Mix wheat flour, chickpea flour and rice flour into large mixing bowl.
2. Add rest of the ingredients except hot oil and mix it well.
3. Now add hot oil and apply properly to the mixture.
4. Now slowly add water and knead the dough.
5. Make small portions of the dough and roll it into circle by using rolling pin.
6. Deep fry the puris and our dish is ready.
7. Serve it hot with ketchup or curd.

Hara Bhara Kabab

A good tea time snack, healthy snack, starter, appetizer, item for kids tiffin....part of so many categories! Here is my version of Hara Bhara Kabab..can be made very quickly and very very yummy :) Do share your feedback! 

Ingredients:
1 Big Boiled Potato
1/2 Cup Green Peas
1/2 Cup Spinach
3-4 tbsp Coriander/Cilantro
1 tsp Chat Masala
1/2 tsp Garam Masala
3-4 Green Chilies
1" Ginger
Corn Flour: As required
Salt: As per taste
Oil: For shallow Frying
Cashew Nuts: For Decoration
Water: As required for boiling spinach & Green Peas

Recipe:
1. Boil spinach for 5-10 mins and remove excessive water aside.
2. Cook green peas, remove excessive water and keep it aside.
3. Mix spinach, green peas, ginger, green chilies, coriander/cilantro.
4. Grind them together and make a smooth paste.
5. Mash potatoes and add above paste, garam masala, chat masala, salt and mix it well.
6. Now slowly add corn flour to make a dough with soft consistency.
7. Make small portions of the dough and make small patties.
8. Decorate it with cashew nuts and shallow fry from both sides and our dish is ready.

1. Favorite among children.
2. Can be made very quick and delicious.
3. Can be categorized as Starter, Tea Time Snack, Evening Snack.

This mouth watering corn recipe will send you in a magical journey of flavors. Once you make them you will have to make them again and again :) Its a combination of corn, green peppers , black pepper, cheese and lots of love. Do post your comments to let me know your feedback !

Ingredients:

For Filling:
1 Cup Boiled Corn
1/2 Cup Cheddar Cheese
1 tsp Chili Flakes
1 tsp Clack Pepper
2 Green Chilies
Salt As per taste
Oil For frying

For Outer Cover:
4 tbsp Rice Flour
1 tbsp Chickpea Flour
1 tsp Chili Flakes
Water as required

Recipe:
For Filling:
1. Just mix all of the ingredients together except cheese and grind them together.
2. Now add cheese to the mixture and mix it well.
3. Make small balls of the mixture and keep it aside.

For Outer Cover:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together except water.
2. Now add sufficient amount of water to make watery paste.

For Final Product:
1. dip the balls into rice flour mixture and deep fry it in oil.
2. Fry them till they become golden brown and our dish is ready.

Benefits:
1. Very easy, tasty and quick.
2. Best dish in rainy season.
3. One of the items in Party.

Samosa - Extremely Popular Indian Snack

Samosa. I am sure you want to have one !
Who can deny that Samosa is the most popular Indian snack. Have it with Tea, Chutney, Coffee, some even have it as Chaat or as a filler for a bread bun ! Make them at home, have friends over, watch a movie or a game of cricket. Do share your comments too.

Ingredients:
Half cup of green peas
1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice
4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 1/2 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
4 green chillies - peppers. Vary the amount per the hotness.
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
2 big potatoes, boiled and peeled.
1 teaspoon of garam masala
1 teaspoon of coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon of asafoetida ( hing in Hindi )
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1 teaspoon of jeera powder / cumin powder
3 cups of all purpose flour
Salt to taste
Water to knead the dough.

Dough:
1. Add cumin seeds and salt to the the flour, in mixing bowl.
2. Add 1 1/2 tablespoon of oil.
3. Slowly start kneading the dough and add water. We don't want the dough to be loose. Keep aside for 20 mins.

Filling:
1. Keep pan on medium heat.
2. Add oil.
3. Once oil is hot, add ginger , garlic and cumin seeds.
4. Add green chillies.
5. Add the spices : Asafoetida, Turmeric Powder, Garam Masala, Jeera Powder (Cumin Powder), Coriander Seed Powder. Mix well.
6. Once the masala are cooked, add green peas. Mix Well.
7. Add mashed potatoes.
8. Add Salt to taste.
9. Cook for around 7- 8 mins on medium heat. Keep aside to cool down.
10. Add lemon juice and mix.

Before Deep Frying:
1. Take a small portion of dough. Knead and take a golf ball size dough.
2. Roll it flat in circle.
3. Cut it in half.
4. Apply little water to all the edges.
5. Roll it into a cone, conical shape.
6. Now add a spoon of the potato - peas mixture and seal in the cone.
7. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
8. Serve hot with Chutney or Ketchup

Green Peas Rasoti is the mouth watering snack that you will come back for more and more and more. Simple to make and yet will highlight your evenings or a party or even in kids tiffin.
Made with healthy items like green peas, cumin, some light spices and potatoes, you cannot go wrong in this one !! Do share your feedback in the comments section below.

Ingredients:
3 Cup mashed green peas
2 Boiled Potatoes
5 tbsp Clarified Butter/Ghee
2 tbsp Onions
3-4 Green Chilies
1 tsp Black Pepper
2 tsp Cumin-Coriander Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala
1.5 tsp Chat Masala
Shev / Deep Fried Noodles.
1 Cup Bread Crumbs

Recipe:
1. Mix all the ingredients together except shev and make a soft dough.
2. Roll the mixture into small balls.
3. Toss them in a shev and place them on grill.
4. Grill it from both sides and our dish is ready.

Benefits:
1. Very good recipe for kids tiffin.
2. Easy and can be made very quickly.

Baked Vegetables - Fast and Easy Recipe

Who does not love baked vegetables ? With a creamy layer of cheese, this is a loved by all recipe. Do try it at home and do let me know your feedback too.

Ingredients:
3 cups of chopped vegetables. ( mix of peas, carrots, beans, broccoli and more )
2 1/2 cups of milk
4 tablespoon of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of black pepper
4 tablespoon of butter
1 cup of cheese. You can take different blends too.
Salt as per taste

Recipe:
1. Place pan on medium heat.
2. Add butter. Let it melt and then add all purpose flour.
3. Add chopped garlic.
4. Mix it well, keep stirring.
5. In another pan, boil milk.
6. Once the all purpose flour changes the color slightly, add the boiled milk slowly while stirring. This will ensure no lumps are formed.
7. Add black pepper.
8. Note that no salt has been added yet. We will add salt while baking.
9. Preheat the over for 350' F.
10. Layer the veggies and the white sauce that we just prepared, in a buttered pan. Then top it with cheese.
11. Bake for around 35 mins
12. Serve.

1. Easy to make and provides a good portion of veggies.
2. Cheese makes it a kids favorite !

This quick and easy recipe is not only an all time classic, but hugely popular among kids. You can always change this recipe a bit, by skipping the green chilies / peppers in case its only for the kid party :)

Ingredients:
2 Bread Slices
2 Chopped Green Chilies
3 tbsp Cheddar Cheese
2 Slices Of Mozzarella Cheese
1 tsp Butter

Recipe:

1. Apply butter on bread slices from both sides.
2. Now place one slice on grill.
3. Put mozzarella cheese, green chilies and cheddar cheese.
4. Now cover it with second slice of bread.
5. Roast the sandwich for 4-5 minutes our dish is ready.
6. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or have it plain.

2. Health breakfast item as it contains good source of protein.

4-5 Fried Papad
1 Onions
1 Tomatoes
Shev: For Garnishing
Coriander/Cilantro
Red chili powder
Tamarind-Dates-Jaggery Paste
Yogurt
Note: There is no specific proportion of ingredients in this recipe. Just use the proportion as per your liking.You can also use tortilla instead of papad.

Recipe:
1. Take fried papad on plate.
2. Sprinkle red chili powder on it.
3. Now add onions, followed by tomatoes.
4. Add paste of tamarind-dates-jaggery and yogurt on top of it.
5. Decorate it with shev and coriander and our dish is ready.

Potato Rasoti, Potato Cutlets are one of the quick and healthy snacks that you can make with very simple and easy to find ingredients. Its not a recipe of specific region like Indian or Mexican, American etc, and hence you can alter the taste as per your ingredients.But ensure you have potatoes or sweet potatoes as that's what the recipe is about !

Ingredients:
2 boiled potatoes, mashed.
1 teaspoon ginger finely grated.
2-3 teaspoon coriander or cilantro. You can also use parsley.
2-3 green chilies / peppers finely chopped. Alter the quantity as per the hotness.
1 teaspoon of fresh lime juice.
Salt as per taste.

Recipe:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
2. Once all the ingredients are mixed, make small balls / patties.
3. Place them on hot grill or you can even put them in hot pan.
4. Drizzle a little bit if vegetable oil or olive oil. You can also use butter ( light butter for less calories :)
5. Once they are golden brown on both sides, remove them on a paper napkin to absorb excess oil.
6. Serve hot with ketchup or chutney. You can also place them in buns and have a quick burger !
